I have never been the first of anyone to get into internet trends. The idea of blogging has never really appealed to me, and yet, here I am. I don’t suppose the reader is really in the dark about who or what i am, what with having found my own little slice of the abyssal emptiness that is the internet in the first place. More likely than not this will be my sanctum, a place to muse ideas about life, the universe, and everything. Probably actually card design and writing mostly, to be honest. Obviously, with this being only my first day in a strange, new world, I’ll be getting the hang of the no-doubt myriad possibilities this alien media, but i have hope that I am not nearly so incompetent as I give myself credit for…
What should the reader know about the author? If one can ever truly learn anything about another, it must be through the roles we fulfill and embrace. A person has many roles they embrace at any given time. I am no different.
I am a Shaman, of a forgotten time when mankind still revered the earth and spirits therein, and sought the aid and favour of the wilds he now claims to control. I am a transperson, those who exist between and all along the imposed gender lines of society, and who deal with the hypocrisy and arbitrarity of a fundamentally flawed dichotomy. I am a teacher, and more importantly, a student, one who’s goal is to learn and share with all who seek to learn and share. I am a writer, one who seeks to express herself through the flowing beauty of the written word, to put images and ideas into the heads of people who may never see or feel such things themselves. I am a friend, a daughter, a mentor, a philosopher, and a thousand other things with a thousand other names.
When all things turn to dust and all thoughts turn to madness, who and what I am is really decided by what I do and who’s lives I touch.
